Pain management during winter
Pain management during winter
Seasons do affect human physiology in many ways. In order to overcome or manage seasonal disorders, it is very important to follow season specific regimen.
During winter season, vata dosha increases considerably so body pains like join pain, leg pain, back pain etc may increase. However, Ayurveda offers many ways to overcome or manage these pains.
Below are some of the tips:
- Abhyanga is highly recommended. Oil massage helps to relax the muscles, improves peripheral circulation and retains moisture in the skin. You can use Mahanarayana taila or Balaashwagandadi taila for the purpose.
- It is better to use Gram flour Soap or any other ayurvedic soap rather than chemical-based soaps while taking bath after oil massage.
- Head massage is also very important which helps to get rid of dry scalp, dandruff, hair fall, and headache. Bhringamalaka Taila, Neelibringadi Thaila etc are recommended.
- Proper food regimen is very important. Food rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin D, Calcium are recommended for Joint aches. Using desi ghee is highly beneficial for healthy bones and smooth movement of the joints.
- In case of severe joint pain, back pain etc, you may consult an Ayurvedic doctor. They may suggest simple treatments like patra pinda sweda, kati vasti etc which are very effective.
- One can also use a general pain oil or pain-relieving liniment or an Ayurvedic pain relief spray.
